There’s something about April.
It’s the end of the quarter and the start of a new season. A time of change. This year though it feels significant.
Maybe it’s the change of seasons. Maybe it’s the interruption of school holidays, Easter and ANZAC Day all falling very close together. Whatever the reason, April can hit like a speed bump – especially if you’ve been moving too fast. And if you’re not paying attention, you barely register it, you just keep driving.
But what if April is exactly the pause you’ve been craving?
What if it’s not a disruption, but an invitation?
An invitation to stop. Reflect. And reset before the year runs away from you.
We often begin the year with a lot of intention. New habits. New focus. A fresh mindset. But somewhere between January’s momentum and April’s calendar clutter, those intentions start to fade. You get pulled back into old patterns. You start saying yes when you meant to say no. You slip back into busyness instead of choosing to be intentional.
Let’s be honest, most people don’t stop to course-correct. They keep pushing. Until they burn out. Disconnect. Or forget what they were trying to create in the first place.
But leaders – savvy leaders – pause.
They check in.
They reset.
And that’s what I want to invite you to do today.
In this week’s episode of Leading You, I’m sharing 3 powerful questions to help you check in with yourself – properly.
The kind of questions we often avoid when we’re stuck in ‘go mode’. Not to judge, but to realign. To get clear again on what matters and who we’re becoming.
James Clear puts it simply:
“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”
So, if something feels off right now, if your systems (your habits, mindset, energy) aren’t supporting you, this is the perfect moment to recalibrate.
Not in a dramatic, start-from-scratch kind of way. But in a quiet, powerful way that says: I’m still in control here.
You don’t need to wait until June’s EOFY pressure or the year-end chaos to reflect. April presents opportunity and is your moment. And you deserve it.
Take the pause.
Create the space.
Tune in to this episode.
And give yourself permission to choose how you want to lead from here.
Because the path to alignment isn’t a big bang.
It’s a choice. One moment at a time.
