Leadership Lessons From The Dancing Guy

By April 14, 2011April 18th, 2021Articles, Leadership, leadership

A friend shared the ‘Leadership lessons from the dancing guy’ last week. It is from the blog of Derek Sivers ( It is an incredibly humorous story of the first follower that created the leader.

The end of the transcript which you will have access to by clicking on the link says it all:

“It was the first follower that transformed a lone nut into a leader.

There is no movement without the first follower.

We’re told we all need to be leaders, but that would be really ineffective.

The best way to make a movement, if you really care, is to courageously follow and show others how to follow.

When you find a lone nut doing something great, have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in.”

It is hilarious but there is a very real lesson in here for leaders. Watch and enjoy!
