“Early in her career days her manager made a comment “Don’t know what I’m doing here with you, seems like a waste of time as women never make it in this business and you’ll be no different”. He didn’t realise what am impact that would have and without him knowing, it only served to drive her further. Always loving to have fun, Jenny would have competitions with her work colleagues to see who could make the most calls, get the most appointments or make the most sales.
From there Jenny made a natural progression to Financial Planning, and developed a keen interest in Self Managed Super Funds. This enabled Jenny to focus on strategies and structures for her clients through advice, rather than selling a product. This started to differentiate her from the average financial planner.
Jenny has grown her business from a one-woman band to its current state today where she employs 8 people and the business is continuing to grow at a steady rate. Jenny’s business maintained the revenue and existing staff through the Global Financial Crisis. During this time most financial planning businesses had large reductions in revenue, some up to 50% and there were large numbers of redundancies within the industry."
