Bonvoyage“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” ~ Terry Pratchett

I am like a great big ball of mixed feelings right now. Excited, anxious, relieved, nervous and most of all joyous. The reason for this is because I am heading off to Europe on Saturday with my husband for 5 weeks. 5 weeks of exploration, relaxation, eating and drinking in France, Italy and the UK.

While I am looking forward to this immensely, I am also nervous as I am leaving my business, my clients and my network for 5 long weeks. It’s taken lots of planning and massive organization but I’m as confident as I can be that it will all be fine and is in good hands.

So while I am on my mini sabbatical I am going to take the opportunity to heed my own advice, take my own medicine and breathe. I am going to take the opportunity to spend uninterrupted time with my husband, recharge the batteries, experience new cultures, step outside of my comfort zone and learn. I intend to come back more inspired, with more clarity and more energy.

While I am away, I am sharing with you two of the most inspiring Ted Talks by Brené Brown and Simon Sinek. They are not only inspiring but very relevant to all of you regardless of whether you’re a leader in business or in corporate or building a career.

I encourage you to take the time to really listen to what they are saying as they are sharing with you what is core to true leadership. What is at the core of inspiring, authentic and influential leaders. All those words we hear and throw around as buzzwords. These amazing people share what this really means.

Enjoy watching and listening to these Ted Talks while I am away. Use the intelligence to disrupt how you are thinking, how you are behaving to create some even better outcomes for you.

Ciao!
