There is no doubt that COVID-19 has thrown a huge spanner in the works for our goals and dreams. Life as we knew it has gone and we have been forced into accepting something we didn’t want and something that posed significant threat to our lives. It’s created a lot of fear, uncertainty, anxiety and grief for the loss of what we had. And let’s be honest – it sucks!
This has been a leveler of sorts because we are all impacted regardless of gender, race or religion. However, people have responded very differently and will continue to as this situation evolves.

There is always opportunity that comes from adversity and this pandemic is no different. One thing I do know is people have been almost forced to assess their life and whilst many are grieving life before COVID-19, many are getting clarity about how their life wasn’t serving them and wondering if in fact they do want their old life back. They are also getting clarity around what is really important to them and what isn’t.
There is power in this because we now have an opportunity to:
- re-create our life and as we transition into what’s next;
- be more in control and increase our confidence;
- have clarity about what is really important to us;
- to make our mark in this time of challenge; and
- get even more deeply connected to our values and priorities.
It’s time to start thinking about life post COVID-19 and be smarter about the decisions we make. This situation has provided a deep learning opportunity for all of us should we choose to take it. You now have a choice how your life’s story will develop.
