Can You Help Me in Support of Australia’s National Cancer?

By March 19, 2024Articles, Leadership

On Sunday I will be participating in something very close to my heart and I’d love to invite you to join a cause that impacts so many across Australia.

The Melanoma March is happening again this year in Melbourne on the 23rd March. It’s a significant event that sees walks organised all over Australia in response to what is considered our ‘national cancer’.

It’s a poignant reminder that melanoma is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in the country and alarmingly, the number one diagnosed cancer in individuals aged 20-39.

The good news is, if caught early, 90% of cases can be cured through surgery. However, for those where it spreads, the survival rate stands at 50% – a figure that, while daunting, has improved from 10% a decade ago thanks to advancements in research and treatment.

This march holds a special place in my heart. I am one of the lucky ones, currently receiving treatment for my stage 3 diagnosis, all thanks to the incredible team at the Melanoma Institute of Australia and other medical geniuses.

The institute’s Co-Medical Directors, Professor Georgina Long AO and Professor Richard Scolyer AO, were recently awarded the 2024 Australians of the Year for their ground breaking research efforts towards finding a cure for this dreadful disease. This signifies the enormous importance of their work.

I’m marching in memory of those who can’t march, for those battling the side effects of treatment, and to raise as much money as possible to continue the fight against melanoma.

Last year, ‘Team Julie’ made an unforgettable impact at the Melbourne march, in both presence and $6,545.00 raised.

I’m hoping you’ll be part of this incredible experience once again.

You can find all the details here. If you’re unable to join in person, your support would still mean the world to me.

Consider making a donation to ‘Team Julie’ through this link  or participate in a march in your hometown.

My goal is to raise $2,000, and every bit of support brings us closer to that target and to finding a cure.

Thank you for considering this cause that means so much to me. Your support, in any form, is invaluable.

One last thing – there is still time to join the exclusive Masterclass “How to Have a Mindset That is Your Superpower”. You can register here.
